Next Steps: Neighbor meeting, COA flyer, Call to Action

Updated, concise next steps for everyone (1/22/25)

1) Comment and question! And stay positive!!! We are convincing them there is a right way to do zoning updates, not just scream “NIMBY!”
2) Follow-up! Be sure you sign up for subsequent meetings and identify as a “stakeholder”!
3) Gather support! Encourage your friends and neighbors to comment and question and follow-up.
4) Gather more support! We are trying to get our city council rep to have a position in this
5) Gather even more support! We are also trying to get the VHCA board and Planning Committee to support us

We got this…as long as we act together!

Scrappy concerned neighbor's 1/19/2025 agenda:

Let’s discuss how to use in today’s 12:30 meeting! I suggest:

1) Draft simple flyer. VERY SIMPLE!  “ALERT!” “Why ALERT?” “Do this now!” Include:

   A) Write your own comment/question/concern, like “I am concerned about negative impacts of changing our street from multi family residential to include 85% coverage/zero setback apartments and storefronts! Why?!”

   B) Join and post on konveio

   C) Email atlzoning2@gov and Alex Wan

   D) Email Jerry/Miguel/Jeff/Shawn at "savesaintcharlesandgreenwood@gmail.com" for more info and to have your name included on stakeholders list/petition!”

2) Draft longer message, including Jerry’s street survey. Used for:

   A)  “more info” to neighbors

   B) message to zoning 2.0 team

   C) message to VaHi board

   D) message to Alex Wan

3) Get Alex Wan involved. “Where are you in this? Do you agree with us and do you have our backs?”

4) Sign-up and attend next meeting! --> https://atlzoning.com

5) Prepare for potential litigation? (Hopefully not!)

See you later today!
